This relatively unknown French territory is made up of Wallis. Futuna and Aolfi islands. They lie 600 kilometres north east of Fiji.

The land is volcanic in origin, surrounded by reef. Wallis was probably colonised by Tongans about 1500 AD while the Futuna originated in Samoa.

The islanders are Polynesian and the population is growing rapidly.

Many Wallisans live overseas, mainly in New Caledonia and Vanuatu, many children are schooled to Junior High, those capable are sent to Noumea and even France.

They are very reliant on France, with many chiefs resistant to change, they frown on tourism, most outside visitors being French officials.

The stamps are a varied lot and cover diverse topics with a French flavour.
